The Eclipse screen capture kit is designed to capture user information from screens on cell phones, GPS units, tablets and any other portable device that can be photographed. Eclipse is an easy-to-use yet comprehensive tool that requires minimal training and expertise. It can be used by law enforcement, military, prisons, schools, private entities and any other organization that would like to capture screen shots from mobile devices, add notes to them and organize them intuitively. Images and video are saved within the program but can be exported to a report at any time and viewed in a web browser with integrated images and video. Eclipse is the best tool for mobile device screen capture in full digital forensics labs, cell phone examination kiosks, forward operating bases, educational institutions, prisons, even for field use.
For mobile forensics examiners, manual examinations (searching through devices by hand and recording any potential evidence they may hold) can be an extremely laborious process. The typical process of navigating to a particular screen on a cell phone, setting the phone down, taking a picture of that screen, picking the device back up and navigating to another screen to take another picture is not only time consuming but inadequate. Eclipse streamlines this process by making sure that the examiner's only interaction with the device is navigating through screens, and that the device stays in place through the course of the entire examination. No interaction with the camera unit is required for snapping images and taking video, leaving one hand to navigate the device and one hand to operate the software. No switching, fiddling, or repositioning is needed, simply open the positioning rails, place the device in the cradle and begin capturing. Features like image hashing and bundled media reporting ensure best practices for chain of custody and testimonies in court. Case export functionality provides an easy method of transfering cases to other users or labs. As the only type of tool that supports 100% of devices for mobile forensics data capture and reporting, every examiner needs an Eclipse!

Eclipse Features and Specifications

|
High Quality Camera and Base
Eclipse includes a high quality camera and lens optimized for capturing mobile device screens. The camera moves up and down and swivels forward and backward, all while staying centered on the device. The hardware is solid and sturdy, making it easier for users to start capturing. The hardware base keeps the device centered and in-place at all times, ensuring that human interaction with the device doesn't change the capture orientation. Swiping through screens or pushing buttons is essential for navigating the devoce under capture, but without a solid base like Eclipse the device can move around, causing frustration for the user.

Images, Video and Audio Capture Methods
Images can be captured with the Eclipse camera or imported from other cameras. Video can be captured using the Eclipse camera. For video capture, Eclipse combines your default Windows audio source and displays a volume level indicator to ensure your audio is working properly.

|
Quick Capture Process
Eclipse capture starts by creating a case and adding a device. Multiple devices can be saved under one case allowing you to organize your captures more efficiently
All user data that is viewable such as SMS, MMS, contacts, call logs, images, video, IMEI numbers, WIFI settings, chat logs, downloaded apps, etc. can be captured with images or video. During capture, the user can select what category of information is being captured and add notes to the capture.
For rapid capturing of images Eclipse offers hotkeys. When hunderds or thousands of images are being captured of device screens, Eclipse reduces the process to a single button click, saving time for the examiner. There is no need to handle the camera hardware itself during capture, which is a feature that defines Eclipse from the competition. Simply navigate the phone with one hand and capture from the keyboard with the other.
Images captured with other cameras can be imported into the Eclipse software. Do you have images from the crime scene? Import into Eclipse and add notes just like images captured with the camera.

|
Image and Video Hashing
After capturing an image or video of a device screen, Eclipse hashes the image using a SHA-1 algorithm. Hashing the image after capture ensures against altered images or data manipulation.

|

|
Preview and Organization of Captures
After capturing images and video of user information in cell phones, GPS units, tablets, etc., Eclipse allows you to organize and edit your captures. Did you accidentaly label 50 images of SMS as "Call Log" during capture? No problem, the preview windows offers batch editing. Would you like to find a specific video and add notes after capture? With multiple filtering options Eclipse makes it easy to preview all of your images and video and find what you're looking for.

|
Video and Images in One Report
Images and video can be selected from the preview window to be included in the report. Specific information accompanying each capture can either be displayed or not in the report, depending on what options are checked by the user.
The best part of Eclipse report generation is that images and video are bundled together in one HTML report, making it extremely easy to display all captured media. There is no need to open separate files or switch between reports. No other screen capture tool offers this level of media integration.

|
Total Control for the User
Capture resolutions for images and video are 1280 x 1024, 640 x 480, and 320 x 240. The camera aperature ranges from c16-1.4 while the 8mm lens focus range is 1:1.4. The stand can adjust to 14" vertical standing height. Image controls like white balance, brightness, contrast, color balance and more ensure capture of the best images possible.
